Need Windows XP drivers for MacBook Pro 5,5 (mid-2009)

The hard drive failed, so I installed a new one.

I only need Windows XP on this computer, so I tried to install it as the sole OS. It installed fine, but I can't find the necessary drivers for it, particularly the network drivers.

It seems that it needs OS X and BootCamp installed to install the Windows drivers, so I wiped the HD and installed Mavericks.

Then when I tried to run the BootCamp assistant, it says it only supports Windows 7.

How can I get XP (and drivers) installed?

You cannot install XP unless you use Boot Camp 3 and, possibly, Boot Camp 4. If you use Boot Camp 5 which is installed with Mavericks, then you need to install Win 7 or later. XP is not longer supported.

Do you know if it is possible to install Boot Camp 3 on Mavericks (and how I would achieve that)? I can't find reference to such a scenario.

Boot Camp 3.0 may be on the original installation discs that came with your computer. Although you may be able to install it, I don't know if it will actually work with Mavericks. I don't recall which Boot Camp version came with your model.

I dont have any original install media, so I'm just going to stop trying to swim against the tide and get a Win 7 license.
