And, what's wrong with the chargers that come with them?
Well, they chargers that came with them are perfectly fine... but under circumstances that I am on the move and unable to charge my i-Devices (iPhone-5 / iPad-Air), I would like to know;

I've used various Power Banks and have had no issue with them, they are super convenient for traveling or anti me you are moving around and need it. My suggestion would be to buy something quality and not just something off the streets.
My recommendations would be:

3) Incase Portable Power 2500

Yes, they are safe. I've not used any of those on the market, so I can't recommend one.
