Q: iPad 3 Bluetooth failure

Hi,

my iPad 3 has Bluetooth problems. I can't connect it because it doesn't find any devices at all. When I switch on the Bluetooth it starts searching for devices, but that's it. Nothing else happens.

I already tried this to fix it:

Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on;
restart the iPad;
reset network settings.

I'm sure the problem is with the iPad and not the devices I want to connect, because I'm not experiencing any trouble with my iPhone 5.

Try a reset by holding the power and home keys down until the Apple logo appears (15-20 seconds).

Hi Barry,

thanks for your answer, I didn't know that was the way to reset the iPad. Unfortunately it didn't help, I still have the same problem.

Any other options anyone?

It just occurred to me to ask what it is you are trying to connect to your iPad via Bluetooth???

Bluetooth on an iPad is able to pair with keyboards.....

Basicly anything. At this moment I'm trying to connect it with my JBL Charge Bluetooth speaker. My iPhone 5 connects within seconds, but my iPad cannot find anything with bluetooth compatibility.

I found something on a forum that it might be a hardware issue with the chip overheating: http://forums.imore.com/ask-question/284087-bluetooth-problems-ios-7-1-4s.html

However I don't fancy putting my iPad in the freezer for a couple of minutes bluetooth connectivity...

Could it be this?

I believe that BT on an iPad has limitations (what can and cannot connect). I am hardware challenged...I certainly would not put it in the freezer, though. The only thing I connect to my iPad via Bluetooth is my Zagg keyboard.
