iPhone5 Reminders app is not working iOs 7.1.2

So it sounds like the app itself is not working. You may want to restart then reset then if it is still having the same issue restore the iPhone to factory settings.

I had this exact same problem. To solve it, I went to Settings > iCloud and turned on Reminders. Hope that helps.
