Why can't I deauthorize a broken computer from another computer on which I have signed in with my Apple ID and password?

My old computer had to be trashed, and now I'm trying to authorize a new one, but the old one is still authorized. With four other computers authorized, my only option is to deauthorize all of the computers and then reauthorize them each. Why can't I just sign into my Apple account and have the option to select a computer and deauthorize it? Is there some security risk in making this a possibility?
