I Took the video card out of my G5 which is not working, just a black screen. How can I identify the model number of the video card?
Can you scan both sides of your video card?
Alternatively, Google every number you can find on either side of the video card that looks like a model number or such.
This could narrow it down also...
If you don't know the model, find the Serial#, but don't post the Serial# here...

THanks for the suggestions Ramon. Tried googling the numbers with no luck. What do you mean by "scan both sides"? Take a photo of it and post here?

Physically put the card on your scanner, scan one side, turn the card over, scan the other side. Or take photos of each side.
Then post the results here using the tiny camera icon in the Reply Editor of this forum:

The P/N 102A5850210 000003 is an ATI part number, and the tag ending in 630-6991 appears to be an Apple tag.
Both seem to point to the ATI Radeon 9600 PRO PC & Mac Edition.
Here's an old thread discussing this part number. You might want to read it as there were apparently variations of this card.

Thanks so much Ramon for going out of your way to help me! I suspected it was an ATI Radeon 9600 but wanted to make sure. I tried resetting PRAN and all other suggestion with no luck, so I'm hoping to buy a 9600 on eBay for 20 dollars or so and see if that works. i will let you know how things work out!
