Q: Cannon printer network connection

I have to work in offices with network. The problems is always the big printer cannon. The first problem is to trouble the printer because is not added automatically. The second... if I can install it is print... It's frustrating really.... Never I can...

HOW can I do?

I've read the manual but even if I follow the instructions I can't print anyway... sometimes is the error filter or another times is the waiting for nothing happened.

How can i do?

Why the problem is almost with cannon printers...

It's curious because always in these networks I can find the little printers HP in the little boxes... Amazing!

Can anyone help me?

I download two applications Handyprint and other one I don't remember now. Nothing. Only the little progress to see the printer.

I have got the last version software updated for OS, and I've re-started my book air many times... nothing happen.

THANK YOU.. in advance

    Hi bezanilla,

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you're running into an issue adding a printer to your Mac and printing from it. The article linked below, provides a lot of great information and tips that can help you resolve this issue.

    Thanks Jason.

I've read the docs and I've tried to connect. IMPOSSIBLE!.

    My point now is this.

I can see the printer (I've got the IP address and the driver) but noway. It's canon IR 2520. I select IR P2520 because the other driver same ref is Fax. I've tried to select all the protocols... NOWAY!... Ever the same message "Filter failed" or printing for the eternity with NOTHING result.

All this, sure, is for dummies and I'm being the best dummy. Moreover I'm the only appel in the system. "Agggg. I'm the special man with your stupid exclusive appel. Aggg..." I become to think all the problem is in the network configuration... BUT... This is Georgia, you know?

I've seen the videos. Nothing. I searched in foros. Nothing. I've read the Bonjour web... hmmm... very interesting (for the future, to improve in appel world). But again, nothing. I' ve downloaded apps as handilyprint, but ANYWAY... also NOTHING...

Do you think the assistance service can gel me in remote? remember I'm in Georgia, and... I'm Spanish (from Spain, wright). If YES... I will pay with all my love.

Best regards and thank you for your help

Appel is GENIAL, don't think wrong, ok?

    Have a nice day

It sounds like you may be selecting a similar driver for a device, but not the specific driver for your imageRUNNER 2520 printer.  The article below describes how to install printer and scanner software on your Mac automatically through Software Update or manually by downloading it from the manufacturers website.

OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#canon-inkjet

Use Software Update before connecting your printer or scanner. This updates the list of the latest supported printer and scanner models on your Mac. If you don't use Software Update before attempting to connect a new printer, you may not see available software when you connect your device. If you're using a Wi-Fi printer, be sure to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network before adding it to your Mac.
