Safari keyboard shortcut not working right.

I have 6 website in favourite bookmark. When press cmd + 1 should load 1st website in favourite folder. Nothing happen. Same cmd + 2, cmd + 3 etc.

Now cmd + 1 keep add ':)' smiley text emotion instead.

I have reset keyboard shortcut default in System Preference Keyboard but nothing change.

I had the same issue

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Deleting the Cache.db and restarting the Safari did not work for me.

So I went to Safari -> Preferences or ,

Under Tabs

third box - Use ⌘-1 through ⌘-9 to switch tabs

uncheck it and it will work.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.

Click: Remove All Website Data

Then delete the cache.

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Hello,

I followed the instructions, then the shortcuts worked for a while and, as usual, they don't work anymore.

I checke in my System Preferences if it was not a conflict between shortcuts, and it is not (no yellow warning triangles indicating any of them).

This problem occurred only since I upgraded to El Capitan (I now have version 10.11.2) and there are lots of other small, similar issues (Spotlight that sometimes "eat" the first letter of what I type, Wikipedia keyboard shortcuts that cease working too after a while, etc.).

Anymore ideas to solve at least the Safari shortcuts issue?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Peter

check if you something else in your bookmark toolbar. I have El Capitan 10.11.4 and it is working.

if you have frequently visited sites folder etc in your bookmak then move it down the list. I have mUser uploaded file

this is how my Safari toolbar looks and it works.

Gm = Gmail (CMD+1)

VS = Archive.org (CMD+2)

Y = Yahoo (CMD+3)

i = iCloud (CMD+4)

Az = Amazon etc (CMD+5)

etc works upto 9
