iCloud is unsupported on Android browsers Find My Phone
I have just discovered that iCloud and importantly Find My Phone is NOT supported on Android browsers. Yesterday my iPhone fell out of my pocket whilst cycling. I realised pretty quickly so knew it was within about 100metres on a track. No problem I thought I'll use Find My Phone and track it, fortunately there was excellent data signal. Android phones are the most common as such my friends all have Android phones. So I attempted to log in iCloud through the standard Android browser, Chrome and Firefox all came up with the message iCloud is unsupported on Android. Wow! How frustrating now I was facing the realisation I had lost my phone in the deep undergrowth. After a fruitless hour long search, one of my friends had managed to download and use the Opera browser to login to iCloud. with this browser you can change settings so your device is identified as a PC. It didn't work perfectly but I was able to lock the phone, set a pin and start playing a noise. Success! We found the phone! I hope this info is useful to people in the future, and really hope Apple change their attitude on this.
My question is why do Apple make access to this key service so hard. Am I supposed to only have friends and family who only use Apple products? We need this service open on all devices to make it the most useful.
