Disk Warrior not finding Macintosh HD

OSX version 10.9.4

Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 20GB

My iMac is running slow so I tried to startup with Disk Warrior (correct version for my version of OSX). However, it is not displaying Macintosh HD as a disk choice to repair. Any ideas as to why?

I have since run the mac Disk Utility - First Aid and completed a Permissions Repair. Then I ran Verify Disk with no issues reported.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

I ran EtreCheck (I have ejected my time machine volume hence the note on that)

EtreCheck version: 1.9.13 (49)

DiskWarrior is not a proper response to a slow Mac. There is one, and only one, purpose for DiskWarrior: repairing a disk that has become corrupt and cannot be repaired with Disk Utility, and that contains data that you have failed to keep properly backed up. In such a case, it may help you to repair the disk and regain access to your data. (Or it may not.)

In all other cases, DiskWarrior should play no role. In fact, if you keep your data backed up properly, you will have no use for DiskWarrior whatsoever.

I would recommend following Mike's advice regarding your performance problems. One thing I would add to what he said: your hosts file has been modified. If you have done so purposefully, with full knowledge of exactly how to properly modify the hosts file, then this is probably not an issue. Otherwise, you may have some problems there. What does your hosts file contain? Run the following in the Terminal:

more /etc/hosts
