Q: DVD problem with FCE
I want to get back from a DVD I burned using iDVD, after creating a film on FCE4.0.1, the film on that DVD. Seems I have damaged my master DV tapes so is there an App I can buy that will let me get back from my DVD the movie file. I would, if need be, convert said files using MPEG Streamclip. I'm on a 27" iMac, 10.8.5, 236Ghz, 16Gb RAM and I also have FCPX software.

There are two very good solutions among many out there; DVDxDV ( http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm ) and MPEG-Streamclip (freeware from http://www.squared5.com/ ).
Personally, I use MPEG Streamclip and although it is freeware, you must purchase Apple's MPEG-2 Playback Component ($19.99 USD) in order to work with MPEG-2 files. Here's a free tutorial on to work with MPEG Streammclip: http://www.secondchairvideo.com/?p=739
