Q: Wi-fi does not work sometimes. Please help

I, as many other Mac users, have a problem with the wi-fi connection. I bought a new Macbook Pro 15inch retina display in December 2013. After roughly two weeks, the internet went down and it would be down for roughly two days or until I shut it down and turned it back on. During these two days, the loading bar would load about an inch and then just stop. When you enter network diagnostics and go through the process, all the lights are green and it starts to work again....but only for a few seconds and then stops again. Its constantly on and off which is very frustrating. This problem is still happening today and I have tried all sorts of "solutions" i've found on the internet but none have worked. I have no idea what else to try.

Now I know this is a very common problem with the Mac's and there doesn't seem to be a solution. My question is....

As the Macbook is this within the 1 year Apple guarantee, am I eligible for a replacement and hope the one I get does not have the same issue? Surely, all new Macbook Pro's dont have this problem.

Does anyone know if this will be possible? If not, what will Apple most likely say if I visit one of their stores?

Any kind of advice would be much appreciated.

It's a one year limited warranty, not a guarantee. You have 14 calendar days  from the time your items are delivered to initiate a return as noted here.

Not all new Mac's have issues with Wi-Fi including mine running v10.9.4.

Unless you state exactly which troubleshooting steps you have taken that didn't work, we have no way of knowing.

    Network preferences may be corrupted.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.

See if that makes a difference.

Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

I've just checked and it is a limited warranty.

I know they all dont have this issue but its quite bad that quite a few have a major problem with quite possibly the most important function. What can Apple do in store to correct this issue?

I've tried your solution before but only deleted certain files which people suggested, not the whole folder. I have deleted them all now but the wifi is working at the moment so I won't know if it has actually worked or not until I try it when/if the wi-fi drops again.

I too am running v.10.9.4 and constantly keep everything updated when i'm prompted too.

Thanks for your help and i'll thoroughly research the problem in preparation of it happening again and then try the solutions.
