I have an ipod 160gb classic. It was working fine a few weeks ago but after updating to the latest itunes, it's stopped working. It isn't recognized on my computer (I'm running Windows Vista) or in itunes at all. My USB ports and the cables I have been using work fine with other devices. I've tried all of the trouble shooting things i could find and nothing has worked. Can anyone help me?

I know it can be very frustrating and even a little concerning when your iPod isn’t recognized by your computer or iTunes. The first steps I would recommend would be the ones in the attached article.

The other day i was looking at where the charger plugs into the ipod. I noticed that some of the little pins or teeth in there were bent out of shape, I think that's the problem! I will have to send it out.
