Aug 17, 2014 8:33 PM in response to vaniseby Grant Bennet-Alder,First, you need to read from the Mavericks Hymnal about how they think it should work:
OS X: Using multiple displays in Mavericks
Then you use this to turn it off if you want Extended desktop:
Then you will get this in System Preferences > Displays > Arrange:

Thanks for the reply.
I'm still lost! I went to Mission Control and I unchecked the last box and it didn't help. I unchecked all of the boxes and still didn't get the display arrangement option.
Please help.
Thank you.

Do y want one window to display across more than one screen?

Aug 18, 2014 7:24 AM in response to vaniseby vanise,I actually figured out what the problem was. I had the 2 monitors attached to the same port thru a hub. Yes, I wanted to expand the desktop across the 2 monitors which I was able to do after attaching them to separate ports. Now my question is - anyone reading this post familiar with setting up small, in home edit bays? I want to attach a tv as my screening monitor. How do I do that? Thanks!

You should be able to use a third monitor. How you do it (adopter required) depends upon the type of monitor connections used for all monitors.

Aug 18, 2014 8:41 AM in response to vaniseby Grant Bennet-Alder,If you want to continue to use Extended Desktop, you drag the window you want to the screen you want.
If you want the Mavericks' "one screen, one use" philosophy, you just return to "the Mavericks way" by checking "displays have separate spaces".
