Im trying to watch a DVD for a health and safety test i need to do and I'm getting "You can’t open the application “RunMe.exe” because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on OS X."
Im not very good with computers so any help greatly appreciated
You chose a Windows program, what else can you do.
If you had a Windows machine and the DVD required a Mac you wouldn't be able to run it at all (Winboxes can't run OSX) so at least the Mac gives you the option.
It a CITB health and safety test which is windows. its for my brother not me. The only time I've been stressed is when other people want to do things on my apple and ask me how to do it! Im learning slowly :-)
To run Windows apps you need Windows.
You can buy and install Windows using Boot Camp or a Virtual Machine.
Backup first.

yes i understand that, over all i like my new computer its just days like this when a simple job ends up complicated (for me)
Can the software be supplied to you in a format that a Mac can understand, or is it Windows only?

Allans suggestion may work.
If not download Virtual Box (free) and buy and install a copy of Windows. Don't use Boot Camp for this task, it's unnecessarily complex.
