Do you have the drive BootCamped? See this: OS X Lion: Installer reports "This disk cannot be used to start up your computer"
Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.
Hi Eric Root,
Thanks for your answer, i tried to uninstall all the non-compatible applications and PowerPC applications but it still do it.
Here it's a screen of what happens:
It says : "Impossible to use this HD to start the computer", it happens when i click on Macintosh HD. Please help me.
Thank you.

Do you have it partitioned? The same applies.
Check to make sure there is not a Backups.backupdb folder at the root of the hard drive. You would normally get a different message, but check anyway.
Other than that, it doesn’t like your disk format.
Back it up, a clone is best as you can startup from that drive to make sure the backup is valid.
Use your installer disk to Partition the drive into a single partition, GUID partition table (Options button), and Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Install Snow Leopard on the clean drive
When the startup manager runs, create an account that is not the same name as what you are currently using.
Try to upgrade to Mavericks.
Once upgraded, use the Setup Assistant to migrate from your backup.
might also consider doing a disk repair in disk utility for the macintosh hd drive. might need it to straiten things up first
