Aug 18, 2014 7:01 AM in response to Tilly2345by Courcoul,The 7.1.2 installer appears to have a flaw, where it apparently hangs on the final verification step after installation and never finishes. So when you force-restart the device, you may discover that you have 7.1.2 already.

Aug 18, 2014 7:02 AM in response to Tilly2345by Barry Hemphill,Try resetting the iPad (hold the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears - 15-20 sec).
Run software update again and do NOT interrupt it.

Aug 18, 2014 2:27 PM in response to Barry Hemphillby Tilly2345,I Am still not having any joy. I have run through it all again several times, have ensured not to interrupt, have reset the ipad each time (as well as the ipad doing this itself at the end of the installation) and yet it still is stuck on iOS 6.1.3. Am at my wits end what to do.
any other ideas?
thanks

Aug 19, 2014 8:58 AM in response to Tilly2345by Courcoul,Have you tried doing it thru iTunes with the iGadget connected to the computer?
I've done all my upgrades, iPhone and iPad, that way using my Mac. The installer gets downloaded and verified by iTunes on the computer before anything else happens, and then the upgrade process is careful and deliberately carried out onto the device. No grief or pain since the early days of iOS 6!
Besides the fact that the computer, any computer (capable of running iTunes), has vastly more powerful networking capabilities than any iGadget, the program will persist with the determination of a bulldog till it gets the installer downloaded properly.

Aug 19, 2014 3:11 PM in response to Tilly2345by Texas Mac Man,Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
