Can multiple thunderbolt2 storage devices connected to a mac mini [ 2014 ], via daisy chain, be configured to work as a single volume on RAID 5?

Yes.


Normally you would buy a hardware RAID5 solution like the Promise Pegasus R4 or the Drobo 5D however recently some new software has been released for the Mac to allow creating RAID5 software RAIDs. See http://www.softraid.com


Apple's own Disk Utility cannot create RAID5 software RAIDs.
