Screen showing dead pixels if I move Mac on start up

When I go to start up my Macbook Pro, if I move it even slightly, such as tilting it close towards me, the screen gets what looks like dead pixels, however this goes away if I reboot and don't move it at all. It's difficult to describe, as I can't take any photos, but basically on the Desktop, there is a line of pixels along the top of the screen that are broken, and along the dock and the bottom, there are dead pixels that move with the graphics on the icons, such as the bouncing icon when an app starts up, the broken pixels will move around that icon. It becomes more extreme when there are actual images, with some images becoming shades of black, green, and purple, and others looking like the contrast has been set too high on a cheap photo program.

Is there any way to fix this, or has the hardware been damaged? I'm pretty careful with my Mac, and it barely leaves my desk, and to move it I do place it down carefully, although I don't know if placing it onto a hard wood has somehow damaged the inside. Although, it is a laptop, so it should be able to withstand a little more than being put on a desk.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
