Q: resetting ipod 5th when no password is working

my ipod 5th does not accept any password and I know they are correct as it is working on the computer. I am to restore it to store setting but won't let me because they are asking for the itune password and it is always telling me it is wrong. I have the lastest version of IOS but still nothing is working. My password to unlock the Ipod is the only one that work but then when I got in general setting and try to restore everything, i should be entering the same code but it is not working there. what can be done

Are you running into this:
iCloud: Find My iPhone Activation Lock in iOS 7
Then you need Apple ID and password for the iCloud account (settings>iCloud) last used on the iPod.
Is there a way to find my Apple ID Name if I can't remember it?

If you are the original purchaser of the iPod and purchased it from Apple then Apple should be able to help..
