Why do hundreds of Facetime calls not appear on my phone bill?

Hello Apple Community!

I was hoping someone could help me understand why hundreds of Facetime calls do not appear on my phone bill. I had an iPhone 4S and recently upgraded to an iPhone 5. Upon review of my phone bill, I noticed the vast majority of Facetime calls did not appear on my bill. Moreover, the Facetime calls I received on my iPad do not appear on my phone bill either. Please note that my iPad is not associated with any data plan (i.e., it only uses wifi).

You might want to read a bit about FaceTime and look through the iPhone user guide. It may save you some time and frustration because many of these basic questions are answered there.

Because FaceTime calls do not work like regular phone calls - they utillize

data as opposed to calling minutes as Alfred DeRose stated above. Individual

FaceTime calls will not appear on your bill - they are in the amount of data used

if your bill provides that information.

FaceTime uses data like Skype. They are not normal cellular calls.
