I was on Facebook and my iPhone 5 screen went black. If i press the home button or the sleep button it would slightly light up. Pressing the home and sleep button will not work, it won't reset the phone. I've tried several times. Now the screen won't even slightly light up when I press a button. Charging it won't work either. Please help! I'm going out of town tonight and need my phone to be working!

You have to hold the home & sleep buttons together for around 20-30 seconds - don't let go until you see the Apple logo. Try it again.
I have tried that as I said before. The apple logo does not appear no matter how long I hold it. The phone is still on because as soon as I plug it in, it immediately vibrates to say its charging.
You've tried powering it off, then back on?
Yes, the only way I can tell when it is on is when I plug it in to the charger and it vibrates.
You may have already rebooted it and not known it because your screen's backlight is out. Your best bet is to make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar to have your device evaluated for a hardware failure.
