Cannot remove recurring reminder from icloud

Hi,

I've created a recurring reminder, stored in my iCloud, which I deleted (at least I thought I did) this morning via my iPhone. Toniught, when logging on my iMac (Mavericks) however I noticed that this reminder was still present and wouldn't let itself delete either (selecting the checkmark in front of it in the reminder app). Double checking on my phone I notice that the entry is still present over there as well ....... what is going on here?

I recall that I had the same kind of problem a while ago with a recurring calendar event. Didn't get any real solution then either.

How come that this, seemingly easy to solve issue, still isn't addressed? (Or am I doing something wrong)

From your iPhone, swipe from right to left to reveal More and Delete. Tap More then change the details of the Reminder so it doesn't repeat and Remind me on a day is turned off. Tap Done then re-swipe it and tap Delete.

You should be able to do something similar from your Mac in Reminders.

First of all thank you very much for your help!

I indeed managed to remove this repeating entry by using Eric's advice: <ctrl>click on the item somehow removed it from the list (on the mac as well as on the iPhone) ..... still think it is strange that it doesn't go away using the normal checkbox-method. How did you find out? Is this documented somewhere?

Does this also work for recurring calendar entries?

On the computer, I select the reminder and hit the delete key. If I control - click on the reminder, I also get a Delete option.

I just tested it and control - click on a recurring Calendar event also gives a delete option.

I don't know where it is documented, I just tried it and found it works.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for confirming. Think it is good to have these solutions present in this discussion forum as I guess that more people will run into issues with this.
