Q: How can I remove Hot Deals adware from my macbook pro, OSX 10.9.4?

Cannot even use Safari because aggressive popups cover the screen constantly. My kids also use this computer so I do not know where adware might have come from.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
