Q: How can I get rid of a 'ghost' Apple ID?
Hi.
Hoping for a little help here...
I'm trying to set up an iCloud account from my iPhone 4 (running iOS 7.1.2). Problem is, when I try to do this I keep getting prompts to sign in to iCloud using an Apple ID I didn't know I had. The username is an old e-mail address and I have no idea what the password is. I've tried to reset the password using both the e-mail notification route, and the security questions - in both cases I get the message that the Apple ID doesn't exist. I've also tried 'Find my Apple ID' on the Apple site - same result - no such Apple ID.
This is annoying to say the least. I can't access iCloud because my phone seems to default to an Apple ID that doesn't exist, and for which I can't change the password or delete it.
Any suggestions?
Incidentally, I have an Apple ID for iTunes and App Store that works perfectly well - ideally I would've liked to use this ID for iCloud too, but, well... see above...
