Q: Apple TV dual monitor not working. Only gets sound.

Love everything about apple and the Apple TV but it will not air play from computer to tv. All software and EVERYTHING is up to date. Only audio will come from tv, no picture at all. It will not stream live events from safari app on iPad either. Pretty bummed so I might be returning it.

AppleTV 2, iOS 7.1.2

I am not sure how you got out of the store without someone explaining the basic requirements covered in this article. The movie version: "The silver Tower Mac Pro doesn't do AirPlay mirroring":
