2560x1440 on an external monitor

I am trying to connect BENQ BL2710PT 27-inch monitor with native resolution 2560x1440 to my 13-inch Macbook Air 2014 which should support this resolution. With HDMI I can get only 1080p, and with a mini-displayport to displayport cable I can't get any signal at all. Selecting the displayport input on the monitor does not help. Any recommendations? Has anyone managed to drive this monitor at its native resolution via displayport from a Macbook Air?

Hi!

I have the same problem (2560X1440 not available).

MacBook Air (13 inch late 2010)

NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

mini DisplayPort

Monitor: Aoc q2770 pqu

Yosemite just updated to 10.10.2

I have been able to establish that this is a problem in Yosemite.

I have seen a thread here about people having the same problem with MacMini and Yosemite but not with previous OS X. But their problem was solved with 10.10.2.

Mine not so !!!

Thanks for any input!
