Problem running Thermal Calibration G5 Quad
http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-1719325.html
So after my fun adventures with my new 2.7GHz G5, I have done lots like rebuilding the LCS. The last thing I did was swap the two CPUs due to heat, and I went to go re-calibrate them with ASD 2.5.7 and the thing says it will take 10 to 20 minutes per processor to calibrate. I've sat here for 40 minutes ago and it's stuck on the same task since 40 minutes that is "Calibration starting on CPU0." With no updates this far into it. Anyone have an idea or two?
I also can't move the mouse cursor, and pressing a key on the keyboard like caps lock, does not light up.
Edit:
Fixed with using ASD 2.5.8
Took about an hour and a half, but all is good now. When opening a program the fans will jump up then back down.
Hello I found the above problem on Macrumours and it is exactly what i am experiencing however when i tried to use ASD 2.5.8 i get a small terminal window come up bottom left saying open firmware with some error found,i tried reset-nvpram and reset-all but system reboots and still wont go into diagnostic test screen,i also removed all the ram bar two sticks and have managed to run ASD 2.6.3 and ran the memory test and they passed fine.
The system boots fine into osx with no problems but i want to calibrate the fans as i re-applied paste and want to ensure everythng is fine.
Can anyone help?
