Q: backup restore

Hi, I backed up my Iphgone 5 on my PC successfully. I then plugged in my new Iphone 5s and wanted to restore the backup on it. I was told I need a password to enable that. I was not asked for a password in the first place. I am able to sync the new iphone5s but unable to restore all the settings I had on the previous iphone 5. Can anyone help?

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing. It sounds like you may have enabled an encrypted backup when you originally backed up your previous iPhone. If that is the case, you may find the following article helpful:
