but the files are not in my external drive, i want to move itunes to external drive to install yosemite beta 2 any help how to do this

Then you did not follow that article.

But personally, i don't recommend that.

Simply copy the entire /iTunes/ folder to the external.

Hold Option, launch iTunes, select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder on the external

o install yosemite beta 2

You do have complete, bootable backup of your current hard drive, correct?

So when Yosemite crashes and messes up your drive, nothing is lost?
