I keep getting a "waiting for printer to become available when trying to print on my Epson Photo Stylus 2400. It used to work.

I'm trying to print a .psd image from Photoshop CS5 using my Epson Photo Stylus 2400 printer. Yesterday, I downloaded a suggested upgrade and it hasn't worked since then. I used Time Machine and replaced the Epson utility with the old one. I then get a message:

Waiting for printer to become available...

and nothing happens. I need to be able to print!

I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.8
