Aug 22, 2014 5:43 AM in response to Lowerh8rsby praiford,I would also recommend staying away from torrent sites and other free streaming video sites. Stick with sites like Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and iTunes otherwise you are just asking to be infected with Malware and Adware. Remember, the mac has protection against known Malware programs but there is no program out there that will protect you from new Malware. The new Malware has to be discovered first then it has to be dissected to find out how it works and what it is trying to do, then the protection code can be written, and then finally it has to be downloaded to your system (which the mac calls home on a daily basis to see if there are any updates to the Malware definitions).
Pirate Bay is notorious for infecting windows system with viruses and a lot of the adware issues that we have seen here have come from people using Pirate Bay or other torrent sites. So I would stay away from it. If your friends insist on doing that with you computer, I would setup the Guest account and have them log in with the guest account. It will limit what they can do on your system and once they log out, everything they did will be erased.
