Q: Macbook Pro & Bluetooth.

Hi gang, I have a 2010 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.9.4.

It would never connect to my iPhone 4 via Bluetooth, and it won't connect to my iPhone 5c either.

I'm a bit confused as it recognises the phone, but the connect wind with the connect numbers/code poppa in and then out of the screen, and I the get a message on my phone that tell's me it can't connect?

My iPhone 5 connects to my car radio via Bluetooth, and recognises other Bluetooth devices. I therefore suspect it is an issue with my Macbook?

Any guesses please?

This is expected behaviour, as there is no supported Bluetooth protocol to do what you wish.

Stedman1, many thanks for the reply. Bit confused by the 'no supported Bluetooth protocol' bit I'm afraid?

I have the Bluetooth icon, and the Macbook, to my knowledge is designed to connect via Bluetooth?

The Bluetooth in the MacBook Pro is designed to connect to Keyboards, Mice, Speakers, Headsets. It is not used for file transfer. This applies to Apple iDevices as well (Keyboards, headsets, speakers, Auto BT systems).
