My Safari internet pages always have a sidebar on the left with my bookmarks, reading list, shared links and favourites - it's very useful but I'd like to be able to see my webpages in full screen. How do I remove the sidebar?

Either click on the bookmark icon again or in the Tool bar View section select Hide Sidebar.

when you click on the bar to remove it, it also removes the directions from the map? Often I want to study all the options of directions in full screen. The bar takes up nearly half the screen?
