Battery replacement help wanted.

Hey people, I have a MacBook Pro 13 early 2011 unibody model number : A1278 ,and need a new battery for it. I found a couple of batteries online but it said it was compatible for the 2009 MacBook Pro 13 model number A1278. So my MacBook Pro 13 early 2011 unibody and the 2009 MacBook pro 13 has the same model numbers. I wanted to know if the 2009 MacBook pro 13 battery will connect inside my early 2011 MacBook Pro 13 unibody. They both have the same model numbers. So will the battery fit ?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

If you want to be assured that the battery that you have installed in your MBP is genuine, guaranteed and will work satisfactorily, purchase it from Apple. It may cost more initially but in the long run it may be the most economic alternative. Search these forums and read about the tales of woe from users who have purchased third party batteries and have them last a month, a week, a day or less. They may be cheap, and so they are.

The choice is yours.

The model number is not the prime identifier of the specific MacBook Pro build variables;

however you appear to be in luck by specification across several model build numbers

(see EMC, battery spec, and other; mactracker.ca database, everymac, & ifixit can help)

An example of a replacement battery that is said to be a replacement for several model

builds between several year designations, can be read about at iFixit.com. Other sites

may have something suitable. I did not look into macsales, but previously they had one.
