Q: How to stop spam iMessages but not SMS?

In the last few days I have a received a number of spam iMessages.

Since iMessage is also used for SMS (Text Messages), how can I set up iMessage

to receive only from my contacts, while leaving SMS open to everybody?

Basically, I DO want to receive SMS from everybody on my iPhone,

but I do not want to receive SPAM iMessages on my iPhone, iPads and Mac

with the result that I have to delete every SPAM iMessage 4 times (once on each device)

Can it be done?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), iPhone4S, iPad3

Thanks for your answer.
But what I am looking for is to be able to receive iMessages only from contacts.
Basically I want to BLOCK by default everyone who is not in my contact list.
But I do want to receive SMS from everybody.

Maybe this is a feature that Apple needs to yet implement for iMessage and FaceTime, i.e. "receive from Contacts only"?

Not sure why you would like to receive spam via SMS and not iMessage, however, but to each his own.

It may sound weird but the reason is that Spam SMS would appear just on my iPhone, and I can handle that.
And I don't want to run into a situation where someone cannot SMS me.
iMessages, on the other hand appear on all my devices, and I want to receive imessages from friends only.
