MacbookPro states keyboard not connected

I Have a 2009 MacBookPro. Unable to login due to message stating "keyboard not connected" HELP!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

After reviewing your post, it sounds like a keyboard is not being recognized. Is it the keyboard on the MacBookPro or an external keyboard? Either not working can be a frustrating situation for sure. Take a look at the section quoted in this article.
