iphone 4s

Hi, I have my iphone 4s and I went to Slovakia.

I was hoping to be able to fully use my phone while there.

So, I was wondering if that would be a good idea for my situation and if not, what would be a better thing to do? And, how much does each option cost? Thanks so much for your time!!

Hey catherine321sk,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to use an iPhone with Sprint service in another country with a different carrier. This article talks about how to use your iPhone on other carrier networks when traveling in another country.

Catherine,

You can contact Sprint and see if possibly unlocking your phone is an idea. Sprint, however is a CDMA company, and so they will only unlock your CDMA compatibility (And I strongly suggest after unlocking keeping your SIM card OUT of your iPhone 4S, or else it may re-lock to Sprint). I don't know if Orange is a CDMA or GSM (which GSM is more common) carrier. However, when you get overseas, put in a SIM card from your new carrier in your phone to re-lock your phone to your Slovakian carrier.

Have a great day!
