I just got an iMac and when I started to set it up it required the keyboard to type, but the keyboard won't connect. I can't use my iMac without it please answer

Since it's a new machine, contact Apple's Support and let them deal with it. You have 90 days free phone support, unless you opted for the AppleCare Protection Plan, which I strongly recommend for desktop machines.

Did you put batteries in it?
It sounds like you just need to turn on the keyboard, there is a small switch and it will show green when you have it activated.

I know what you mean i have the same problem i use a Apple Keyboard wired original but after a update He will never connect to my mac than i have to use a wireless keyboard and mouse is there someone who Knows the answer because this is no good for so expansive computer
