Aug 23, 2014 12:28 PM in response to John Galtby leli1890,The computer is slower. I began to leave messages of "offers" or "any topic" on the screen. Open windows telling me messages like "detox" or "MacKeeper" or simply open another topic, all these things without me if any sought. I appear alone.

Aug 23, 2014 12:32 PM in response to leli1890by John Galt,Is it slow all the time or only when you are using Safari?
From what you describe you may have inadvertently installed adware. Eradicating it is simple. For an explanation or how this may have occurred, how to avoid it in the future, and for one possible solution read How to install adware.

Aug 25, 2014 11:00 AM in response to leli1890by John Galt,Do not download or install any program to do anything whatsoever until you determine what's wrong.
Are you unable to click the link I provided? What occurs when you do?
Please post a representative screenshot of the anomalies you are describing:
Screenshots (Mac):
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse or trackpad. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot named "Screen Shot...." followed by a date and time on your Desktop.
When you post your response, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the frontmost window.
⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen.
Don't capture or upload any information you consider personal. To edit an existing screenshot, read How to edit a screenshot.
Drag the screenshot to the Trash after you post your reply.

Sep 2, 2014 12:43 AM in response to leli1890by marts1,Apparantly there is a virus/malware going around that hides in a bogus email from DHL. We accidently opened this because we are awaiting a parcel. However once we had realised our mistake it was too late, so we decided to do a time machane restore from last months back up. Having followed the normal restore from Time Machine procedures, we were faced with a flashing screen and an error message telling us to power down and restart. This we tried but without any success. We can not even reboot from the original install disc. Please can someone offer some constructive help.
