iMessage login issue

Cannot log into imessage. it was working fine before, and i had turned on my mac. when i logged in, imessage told me to log in, in which i did with my Apple ID password. However, i keep getting a message saying that i cannot log in at the moment, but I know that there is nothing wrong with my network connection. I've tried a couple times more, but i keep getting the same message. Advice/help would definitely be helpful.

Hi,

Try restarting the Mac holding down CMD+ALT+P+R keys altogether until you have heard a total of three Start up "bongs".

This is a PRAM/NVRAM reset.

If that does not work try a Safe Boot and see if your account works then.

If it does reboot the computer for a normal Start up.
