Windows 8 Install: Keyboard/Trackpad Unavailable

Hello,

I have tried several methods during searches to remedy my issue during installation of Windows 8. I have successfully gotten to the "Personalization" screen during my Windows 8 install on my Macbook Pro Retina 13" Late 2013. However, once there, my keyboard and trackpad are unavailable.

  • I have followed the Bootcamp instructions
  • Tried the right to left USB drive switch "fix"
  • Made certain to download the latest Bootcamp support files
  • Restarted many times over the last 2 days

From what I have learned, many seem to indicate there is a compatibility issue between between Windows 8 and Bootcamp driver files for the keyboard and trackpad. However, I have yet to find a remedy. I am pressed for time, as I have an assignment due and I absolutely need Windows for it. But after days of working at this, I am not confident I can truly run Windows on my Mac.

Any help to finish my Windows 8 install with access to my keyboard and trackpad available is greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), Late 2013
