Q: Why do I have to give permission for keychain every time?

Everytime I'm starting Yahoo Messenger, I get asked 3 times:

Yahoo Messenger wants to use your confidential information stored in Yahoo Messenger in your keychain. Do you want to allow access to this item?

I have 3 buttons to choose from:

Always Allow

Deny

Allow

I click on "Always Allow" everytime. Is there a way that I can get rid of this dialogue? It is particularily annoying, because when my Mac goes to sleep, and I wake it up later, Yahoo Messenger again asks me 3 times the same question.

    Open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities.

    • In the top left of the Keychain window there is a Lock. Normally, this is set in the open position.
    • Run Keychain First Aid under Keychain Access in the Menu bar.

    If you still have problems....

Delete all entries for the Yahoo account in the Keychain.

Go to the User's Library folder in your User's folder.

    User's Library > Preferences delete com.apple.keychainaccess.plist

Log out under the Apple in the Menu bar

Open Yahoo Messenger and add the password again. Does it work correctly now?

    If no, reset your Keychain.

Actually I had the some problem when i downgraded from OS x 10.8 to 10.6 to get my Core 2 Duo Macbook running properly again....

I found that by going into "Keychain Access",

Double click "Yahoo Messenger" in the main window,

Select  "Access Control" in the popup window,

Delete the Multiple Yahoo Messengers in the list, and

Check the "Allow all Applications to Access this Item" button (there is no reason not to!)

    and Save ...

It stops Messenger from asking (three times) everytime!

Seems to be a bug in Yahoo and 10.6

    Cheers
