Possible to block a contact on iPad without blocking on iPhone?

I Want to prevent some contacts from reaching me on my iPad, but I don't want to block them from my iPhone. Is this possible, or will blocking them on my iPad block them across all my devices?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I know how to enable blocking, I'm just not sure the result.

are you saying that by blocking a contact on messages on my iPad, that it will not block the same contact on FaceTime On my iPad? In other words, I have to block them on both apps?

so does that mean that the contact will still be able to message me and FaceTime me on my iPhone, even if I have blocked them on my iPad? That is the desired result.

unfortunately Apple is not particularly clear on this point, and the disclaimer on the app suggests it will block the contact wherever it appears at the cloud level ...

HI, thanks for your help. Unfortunately this is wrong. Blocking a contact under Messages on my iPad also blocks it on my iPhone. Not only would test texts from that person not go through, but it actually shows up in the Settings Messages blocked menu.

unless there's some special setting that limits the blocking to the local device only, this is NOT possible.
