Time Capsule turns off - so does replacement

My new Airport Time Capsule (A1470, latest firmware) turned itself off every day or two, sometimes more often. Green light out. Unplug and restart, all good until next time. This happened since day one, in literally less than 24 hours.

After about a week of this I returned it and got a replacement.

The second device does the same thing.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have never found it to be hot. The power is plugged in where our cable modem and previous wireless router were plugged in for years. I tried plugging the Time Capsule straight into the wall to bypass the power strip - same problem. Wireless is secured with a decent password, though I do not think a remote user could turn it off anyway. We connect with an iMac, two iPhones, a Toshiba laptop and a Gateway laptop, though that should not logically matter.

Thanks for the idea of a bad batch. That is what it feels like.

Support suggested a UPS or different outlet might help. I might do a UPS, which would be good for the iMac anyway, but if this thing dies again on that I will go back directly to Apple. I have seen things like this go unrepaired in hardware as the vendor test area cannot create a real world environment - it's too perfect.

Sadly I waited too long before setting this up - the 14 day return policy seems pretty brief for a company really wanting to be the best. I must say that their support staff have been beyond friendly and polite, which matters a lot to me.

I plugged the Time Capsule and cable modem into a surge suppressor-equipped power strip (just a basic Belkin, under 20.00 from Target) about a week and a half ago. The TC has not turned itself off since then. Maybe the TC is more sensitive to spikes than other systems, or maybe our power is worse than I thought. I will try to remember to post if it starts acting up again.
