    Hi mrdrinkwater42,

If you are having issues with deleting emails from your iPhone you may want to try a couple of things to troubleshoot.

First, I would try restarting the iPhone -

Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Best,

    Brett,

I have pages of 1969 emails with no message, cluttering up my email and causing worry that perhaps they actually started as a "real" message. Rather than put the onus on users like myself, iPad 2, to restart our devices...most have done that, pretty basic, or set up again, Apple needs to fix this ridiculous glitch that has occurred intermittently since at least 2011.

Worse than email are severe problems with IOS 8.0.2 such as Safari freezing, pages needing to reload, iPad running as tho it were dial-up, inability to copy and paste info including URL's, flickering web pages that must be closed as they don't function.

When is Apple going to step up and provide fix for those of us affected (please members, don't reply to tell me yours works fine), or allow us to upload IOS 7. Are they waiting to see how many customers will give up and order new devices? I won't and there are plenty of disappointed loyal Apple users who will find other solutions.
