Dell U2414H Waking from Power Save Mode

Hi,

I recently purchased the Dell U2414H 24" monitor and have encountered some issues relating to my MacBook Air Mid-2013. When the monitor is connected to the notebook and the notebook is placed into sleep mode, the monitor flashed a note saying "Entering Power Saving Mode" then proceeds to Power Saving Mode. Yet when I come back an hour or two later, the monitor is continually cycling through this process. It will come on, display this message, proceed to Power Saving Mode and then repeat. Below I have embedded a video displaying the problem. I have the notebook connected using the included Mini-DP to DP cable connected to the ThunderBolt port of my computer. I'm running the notebook on OSX Mavericks 10.9.4. I have tried disconnecting the cable at both ends, restarting the computer and disconnecting power from the monitor.

Hope you can help.
