Apple warranty in Indonesia: any value and iphone 5c that the supplier does not want to authorized repair

Dear Apple, Apple users and expats in Indonesia,

i want submit in this community a very strange and bad " adventure " with my iphone 5c here in Indonesia:

i have bought my item in Thailand in October 2013, and actually i live in Indonesia. I have broken with an accident the screen and the button of my iphone 5c, and the authorized service seller in Bali " GLOBAL ", with a lot of lies ( because they have tell me very clearly " you don' t have bought the item from us " ), be refused to replace my phone ( under warranty ), with my personal payment ( official Apple price list and claims/terms and conditions ) for change screen and button....but NOTHING!

I' m coming today at IBOX ( Premium apple reseller and service ), and same story and situation with them.

Dear Apple, a lot of expat in this " special country ", where the INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY, don' t have any rule....please TELL US, how repair our items!

TELL US: for repair we need to go in Singapore, and for all your Clients they don' t possible travel in Singapore.....WE NEED TO PUT IN THE GARBAGE OUR ITEMS?!

KInd Regards

iPhone 5c, iOS 7.1.2

dear Felipe,

1) if same like a lot of people wirhout carriers, no warranty?! ( is the unique country in the world with that policy )

2) ok for the internarional warranry, but i today go directly in ine authorized apple store for take a picture about the advertising

3) In Indonesia there are resellers: yes, but to iphine reseller don' t provide any service, here the " local " warranty don' t have the same any value. Maybe you live in an other country....and you don' t know the " drama " of a lot of people here

4) i have posted the offers from OFFICIAL distributors, no grey market. Try to see in google.co.id a small " trailer " about the Apple warranty.

5) Dear Felipe, there are approximately over 1.000 tickets/contacts from Indonesiians to Apple about this situation, but Apple never reply. This is not is a complaint, but the reality.

EXTRA POINT 6): but you work in/for Apple?! seem to offend you in person.

No it is not. From the English language version of the ASIAN warranty (last time I checked Indonesia is in Asia, isn't it?):

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

As your phone was sold in Thailand, your warranty is only valid in Thailand. Posting here and endless arguments are not going to change the reality of your situation.

I really should not be wasting my time trying to enlighten an obviously obtuse person, but here goes for the last time:

1). Service in Indonesia is provided by the carriers:

iPhone: Wireless carrier support and features

2). The phone warranty is NOT INTERNATIONAL on the IPHONE and it has never been, no matter what you might think or what you might have heard from supposedly "Apple dealers".

https://ssl.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/ios-warranty-rest-of-apac-english. html

3). As far as iPhone availability in Indonesia it is available via the Apple ONLINE store and there are no PHYSICAL Apple stores in that countries. There are authorized resellers which might offer additional warranties, but that might be their own warranty (or additional protection) and Apple is under no obligation to honor it. In any case, what is your point to warranties being offered in Indonesia, since you bought the phone in Thailand? If a local vendor is offering HIS warranty, why do you expect another vendor in another country to honor it?

4). There might be grey market iPhone resellers offering "international warranties". Experience has shown that these are sometimes bogus, especially when you are asked to pay extra. Again, Apple is under no obligation to honor these.

5). Your best bet is to contact the seller who claimed you have an international warranty and take the matter up with them. Whining and moaning about it here will not get you anywhere, and Apple does not monitor this forum, nor will they respond to your "complaints" as this is a TECHNICAL user to user forum and not a complaint line.

Now, do you understand? Comprende? Capisce? Comprenez-vous?

Honestly all my colleague overseas, when they broken one item under warranty, go at the first apple service reseller And no problem ( a rarity? )

Which value have the Apple Care: 0! Don' t have any sense buy " an extra international guarantee for 2 years ", if they don' t replace....no?! Why the people should to buy that " service "?!

Aug 27, 2014 4:34 AM in response to Gabryf

You don't seem to understand: the iPhone warranty is NOT INTERNATIONAL. This is different from other Apple products (e.g. laptops, desktops, etc) where the warranty IS international. AppleCare+ is irrelevant. Get it now?

You will never be able to get your iPhone serviced in Indonesia, and it really does not matter that there are "many people like you" in Indonesia.

Dear Felipe,

i don' t change the reality of the situation: here in ALL the apple stores, the employees tell at all the people " INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY ", and ALL the wholesaler of IPHONE provide two kind of warranties: Internation warranty and warranty approve from SES ( i don' t know what is SES ).

I never have peoblems in other countries, only here there a lot of problems. Many times, the indonesians and expats are forced to pay much more the assistance, cause they send your item to Singapore ( ask more money wirhout any motivation...only for " speed " your assistance ).

In Indonesia, for a lot of problems caused from Apple, the wholesalers, proupose two different warranties, see here:

Apple iPhone5C 16GB - All Color [Detail]International WarrantyRp 7,050,000
Apple iPhone5C 16GB [Detail]Garansi Resmi Distributor Indonesia By SESRp 6,580,000

Extra answer (and as the would say in "Who Wants to be a Millionaire") my final answer:

No, I do not work for Apple, and neither does any participant on this forum. (You obviously failed to comprehend point 5 in my previous message, or any point for that matter, which is the problem here.)

There are no authorized iPhone resellers in Indonesia except those 3 cell companies. Any other company in Indonesia selling iPhones are selling grey market units and have no relationship with Apple.

You need to go to the 3 cell carriers that are selling that international warranty and ask them how you use it internationally since it has nothing to do with Apple. Or complain to the regulatory agencies in your country.

But since you didn't buy your iPhone in Indonesia that isn't the issue here. Did you buy from an official reseller in Thailand and did they advertise an international warranty?
