If you mean something like AirPlay where what you see on your Mac is displayed also on your TV wirelessly, then you would need some third-party solution,  like AirParrot combined with an Apple TV.

There are video adapters that use a port in the computer to allow viewing

of the computer's screen on a second display, to include a digital TV with

    LED or other technologies.

You will have to determine which video adapter may work, and with what TV.

When the computer was new, the Apple Store online page and retail stores

had optional video display adapters to use various screens with the iMac

and other model Apple computers of that era. Be sure to check well to get

the correct one(s) before you buy. You may need to get more than one so

to hopefully have one that works. Some TVs use HDMI or other connection.

Others may require a powered adapter to boost or change the signal in order

to work with various television technologies. Cables vary as do adapters.

•Mac Basics: Ports and connectors on your Mac

The current store inventory may be newer than the port configuration on your

older iMac, so items offered at the Apple Store may or may not work with it.

    http://store.apple.com/us/mac/mac-accessories/cables/cable-chooser#!

The manual that accompanied the computer when new should describe

the optional accessories and give part numbers, so those numbers may

be an adequate guide to look for suitable vintage or stock of correct part

numbered adapters, should nothing in the Apple Store befit your old iMac.

However, if your question is meant to read, can i use the computer screen

as a television, I'd venture to say no. The screen needs the rest of the iMac

in complete and working order, to show anything at all.

So a reply could vary, with interpretation of the actual meaning...

    Good luck & happy computing!
