Photos randomly turning corrupt when creating a book

Hi. I'm making a book in Aperture 3.5.1, and every now and then a perfectly good photo that's been placed turns "corrupt." It takes the photo and turns it sideways and squished, filling the extra space with random colored pixels in sort of lines. When I go to view the corrupt photo in Projects and look at it individually, it's still squished but the lines are gone. When I try to crop it it looks normal, but as soon as I hit ok on the crop it goes back to corrupt. Aperture is seemingly choosing random photos to do this with, and at random times... some were edited in Photoshop, some are totally raw. And there are many other photos from the same shoot that have been placed in the book but are perfectly fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
